About us

Working for safer neighbourhoods

We believe connected neighbourhoods are the foundation of a safer Switzerland. Through local support between neighbours and businesses, we build a network where trust matters and shared knowledge drives social progress.

People

Our team

We are a small team that believes good neighbourhoods start with real people.

  • Marek Sapieta

    Marek Sapieta

    Cofounder

Marek focuses on making CooHood genuinely useful every day for people in the neighbourhood, with simplicity and safety at the centre. Dialogue and feedback matter to him because he believes interaction creates real value.

  • Manel Arañó Barenys

    Manel Arañó Barenys

    Cofounder

Manel keeps CooHood technically reliable. He leads testing and the development of new features so the platform can grow together with the community.

Collaborators

Experts who guide CooHood with research and practical know-how.

  • Dr. Jeanine Ammann

    Dr. Jeanine Ammann

    Food waste & sustainability

Jeanine Ammann is a researcher and deputy group leader at Agroscope. She works on sustainability and food policy and has already carried out several studies on food waste. Together with CooHood she is exploring a neighbourhood field pilot: as a food-waste expert she supports the project with scientific findings that we attribute carefully on the platform.

Sustainability has always been close to my heart. I love swapping lightly worn clothes with friends, or passing on things I no longer need in chats and on exchange platforms. I am delighted that CooHood fills an important gap here and makes it simple and convenient for everyone to help each other.

Trust

Safe and trustworthy

Your safety comes first: clear residential address confirmation and Swiss data protection standards.

  • Residential address confirmation

We confirm residency with a one time GPS check while the app is open. We do not inspect identity documents or carry out background checks.

  • Data protection

Your data is protected by Swiss law and modern encryption, for private helpfulness in your neighbourhood.
